CORREA will be screened at @stkildafilmfest ~ 3pm Mon 10 June as part of the Animation Showcase; and 3pm Sun 16 June as part of the Made in Victoria Program.

I didn't want to re-post calls for #ceasefire immediately following the events of 7 October out of respect for the people of Israel. What Hamas did was abominable. However, the Netanyahu government's policy of disproportionate retaliation is also horrific. 18,000+ dead. 1.8m displaced. Cholera. Typhoid. I don't want to live in a world where war crimes are met with more war crimes. This degree of force can't be justified in terms of self defense. The international community must hold both sides to account. We need a ceasefire immediately.

Correa is an installation of sculpture, light and stop motion projection developed in conjunction with the 2022 Hume Winter Lights Festival. Correa tells the story of the beings that animate the bush and the things that divide them. Artist, Lachlan Plain, reflects on the arbitrary divisions we carve into the land – roads, fences, borders – as well as those we construct between ourselves.
