The machinery of community is a little clunky, a little unpredictable, but when the teeth are meshed it creates a kaleidoscope.
Cogs of Consciousness was a collaborative project facilitated by Lachlan Plain. The artists included Diana Tsang, Linda Jain, Sue Kaye, Lina Colombani, Ebonyrose Lyons, Jasmine Ponsford, Fiona Shanahan and Eva Jablonski.
Cogs of Consciousness was devised through the CROP Art Program. It was funded by the City of Boroondara and launched as part of Mental Health Week 2015. It is permanently installed at Hawthorn Community House.
Lachlan has been working with CROP and Hawthorn Community House since 2007. He has overseen the production a poetry anthology and a spoken word anthology; curated two exhibitions including collaborative artworks and sound installations; and co-ordinated the Enchanted Ark Family Fun Day (2009), which was awarded a high commendation in the Victorian Government’s Live Local Awards.
